About the sponsors of this site FAB is supported by the here to HELP awards, part of the Save the Children Fund. Below is some information provided by Save the Children including a link to their website.
The Save the Children here to HELP awards, funded by British Gas, inspire young people to make their local area a better place to live and offer them support to get active, make changes and enjoy themselves at the same time. Over a three year period, British Gas and Save the Children, through here to HELP, will fund up to 300 new projects identified by children and young people. This website is one of the funded projects. In the past, groups of children and young people from England, Wales and Scotland have used their £1000 award to, amongst other things, make short films about bullying and racism, host photography exhibitions about the areas they live in and make music about staying safe on the street. Children and young people and those working with them can find out more by logging onto www.helpyourselves.org.uk Check out the 'Success Stories' story section to see what other groups are getting up to. Roxane Brown, Save the Children's here to HELP Programme Manager said: "It's important that children and young people are given opportunities to get involved and make a valuable contribution to the to the world around them. Here to HELP has seen children improve something important to them in their local community giving them a real sense of empowerment, responsibility and pride." Save the Children fights for children in the UK and around the world who suffer from poverty, disease, injustice and violence, working with them to find lifelong answers to the problems they face.
